Established in 2006 as a Non-Profit 501(c)3 organization, Buckhaven carries out activities designed to offer physically challenged individuals and children the opportuities to participate in hunting and related outdoor activities as well as educational programs to learn about hunting, nature and other similar topics. These activities specifically include:
1) We will be hosting a Archery Deer hunt for the Wounded Warrior Project in October 2010. This event will promote, educate and introduce the sport of archery and bow hunting, we will give ten disabled veterans the oppotunity to harvest a whitetail deer on this very special hunt. They will also develop a special bond with one another as well as the community.
2) Participating in the NWTF (National Wild Turkey Federation) JAKES Day. JAKES stands for Juniors Acquiring Knowledge, Ethics and Sportsmanship. Buckhaven Learning Center offers the JAKES Day educational programming regarding hunting, nature and wildlife to physcially challenged children, as well as able bodied children.
3) Archery programs for students from schools wishing to organize special training and educational programs.
4) Educational training programs for physically challenged individuals and groups interested in learning about hunting and enjoying the outdoors.
5) We also offer educational programs teaching proper firearm handling for individuals licensed to carry a concealed firearm under Ohio law.
6) Buckhaven will continue to add other programs dedicated to introducing the physically challenged adults and children to nature and opportunities for hunting.

Donations of real property, conservation easements and hunting leases would be well suited to the purposes of our organization. Monetary donations may be made using the Pay Pal Donations link below:
